Dare to see yourself as a 72 year old smoker?
If yes, then email your photo to trish.oak@kick-it.org.uk (photos should ideally be head shots with eyes facing forward and hair pulled away from the face). We’ll then get on with ageing you as fast as we can before emailing you back with your very own face age photo.

SMOKER’S SURVIVAL KIT
SMOKERS EXPERIENCE PREMATURE AGEING!
 |
Skin Damage
Smoking restricts blood vessels and reduces blood flow to the skin, starving it of oxygen and essential nutrients. Therefore the more a person smokes, the greater the risk of premature wrinkling.
Did you know that on average, smokers in their 40s have the same number of wrinkles as non-smokers in their 60s? |
 |
Breathing Difficulties
In the UK one in four smokers develop Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) which destroys lung tissue and restricts breathing. In severe cases, sufferers can be left wheelchair bound, requiring oxygen therapy and a carer 24/7.
Even in milder cases, sufferers may struggle to climb stairs! |
 |
Male Impotence
Up to 120,000 UK men in their 30s and 40s are impotent as a direct result of smoking. Smoking increases the risk of erectile dysfunction by as much as 50% for men in this age category! |
 |
Loss of Vision
Smokers are twice as likely to suffer from Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
This is the leading cause of irreversible vision loss among people aged 55+ in the Western world. |
 |
Gum Disease
Smoking and other tobacco use in the UK is responsible for more than half of adult cases of peridontitis (severe gum disease).
Peridontitis often results in swollen gums, bad breath and even loss of teeth. |
 |
Loss of hearing
Hearing can worsen after only one year of regular smoking and not only occurs in smokers but also in those who breathe in second-hand smoke. |
